The 21st Establishment Anniversary of Asia Cement

Monday 23 August 2010 is the 21st establishment anniversary of Asia Cement Public Company Limited. The Company, thus held a celebration on August 20 with religious ceremony in the morning. In the afternoon, the management and staff visited the Home for the Blind with Multi-disabled on Ram Inthra Road, Bangkok to donate baht 100,000 and necessary articles such as powdered milk, diaper, soap, medicines and so on valuing baht 20,000. Besides, the executives and staff made their own as well.

Home for the Blind with Multi-disabled Bangkok, established in 1985, is one of the projects of Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under Royal Patronage. Its origination of establishment is derived from the charitable pilgrimage of 40 blind juveniles from the School for blind in Khonkaen province who voluntarily walk from Khonkaen to Bangkok with the theme “Never Give up Hope.” They spend 10 days to arrive in Bangkok and, as a result, they gain donation for 3 million baht from which the Foundation spends it to establish the Home for Blind with Multi-disabled Bangkok in order to provide necessities of life, education and physical and mental rehabilitation for the blind, multi-disabled poor children.

Today, there are 72 children at the home, 43 boys and 29 girls of which 64 are boarders and 8 are commuters. When the children are 16 years old they will be sent to further their study the school for blind, multi-disabled in Lopburi Province until they finish junior high school. If they can continue their study to higher level, they will be sent to other educational institutions of the foundation or to vocational training center for the blind, multi-disabled in Nakonnayok Province.
