The recent 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Chiang Rai was followed by over 900 aftershocks. As a result 18,000 households, 88 temples and 80 schools have been damaged.

On Thursday May 29, 2014 the Cha-am Plant along with the Environmental Working Group of the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association presented scholarships and financial support for the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center as well as the ASEAN Studies Learning Center to the Municipal School 7, Baan Nong Ta Phod. This school is located about 5 kilometers from the Cha-am Plant. This financial help totaled 120,000 baht. A donation of 50,000 baht came from the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association and 70,000 baht from the Cha-am Plant.
