Asia Cement Congratulates ONEP Secretary-General and Explores Environmental Collaboration

On October 27, 2025 Mr. Nopadol Ramyarupa, representing the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), led a delegation to extend congratulations to Mr. Bannarak Sermthong on his appointment as Secretary-General of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP). The visit also served as an opportunity to discuss potential collaboration in advancing environmentally responsible industrial practices. 

During the meeting, Mr. Nopadol Ramyarupa expressed sincere appreciation for ONEP’s continued support of TCMA’s initiatives, particularly in promoting the use of hydraulic cement. He also acknowledged ONEP’s valuable guidance and support in helping TCMA comply with the conditions related to the renewal of permits for utilizing areas within national reserved forests classified as conservation zones (Watershed Class 1A) for mining purposes. This cooperation has contributed to more efficient operations aligned with natural resource conservation principles. 

The delegation presented updates on the cement industry’s carbon reduction efforts in accordance with its roadmap, including progress under the Saraburi Sandbox initiative. They also highlighted efforts to align national policies with regional and global environmental frameworks. 

ONEP expressed its congratulations and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting TCMA’s work. Plans for future collaboration include projects related to biodiversity, with further coordination to be carried out in due course.
